Gregory Baker, a leader in Vancouver’s entrepreneurial scene since the early 1990s, is running for Vancouver City Council in the November municipal election.

In 1994, Baker opened PC Galore in Kitsilano, Canada’s first computer recycling business. His work with PC Galore earned him a place on Business in Vancouver’s Forty under 40 list in 1996.

In 2004, Baker and a partner created BLM Games, a Vancouver-based boutique board-game manufacturing business specializing in original NHL licensed products. The Toy Testing Council of Canada voted NHL Big League Manager, a “Best Bet Game” in 2008.

Baker’s latest venture is No Pirates Allowed, a boutique neighborhood toy store in Kitsilano. He is an active supporter of the Kitsilano community and member of the Kitsilano Chamber of Commerce.

An enthusiastic violinist, Baker played in several orchestras, including the Vancouver Youth Orchestra. He is also an avid hockey player.

Baker is a University of Western Ontario graduate and participated in BCIT’s marketing management program.

Born in Vancouver, he grew up in the Dunbar area and lives in Kerrisdale with his wife and three children.
