Heather Deal was elected as a Vancouver Park Board Commissioner in 2002 and has served as a Vancouver City Councillor since 2005.

Heather is a professional biologist, environmental educator and advocate for strong environmental, cultural and social policies. She was born in England, raised in Michigan, moved to Vancouver in 1984 and proudly became a Canadian citizen in 1991.

Heather brings her passion for our urban ecosystems, arts and culture, and accessibility to City Hall. She is liaison to the City's Active Transportation, Arts and Culture, Food Policy and Heritage advisory councils and is a Vancouver Public Library Trustee. Heather has lived in Vancouver for over 30 years and is a long-time resident of Kits.
