Lisa brings to Council many years of experience in local and regional government. Serving two terms as mayor and nine years at GVRD Metro-Van board and committees including Labour Relations, Parks, Environment and Transportation she’s well aware of the serious issues facing Vancouver today such as housing, affordability, inclusiveness, transportation, environmental restoration and local economy.
Lisa also served 6 years as Director at Vancity Credit Union and chaired the Community Investment and Risk Committees. She brings a solid understanding of finance and prioritizing for optimum allocation of resources in the City budget. She’s a strong advocate for participatory budgeting processes where citizens are truly empowered to make those budgeting decisions about issues that will affect them most.
As a life-long learner, Lisa studied politics, economics, commerce, journalism, art curation, conflict resolution and law. A former gallery owner (who learned first hand how small businesses struggle), she now practices civil mediation.
