Joseph Davis, the convicted sex offender wanted on a Canada-wide warrant after walking away from a Vancouver halfway house, made it all the way to Quebec before police caught up with him.

Davis, 47, a four-time federal offender currently serving a four-year sentence for sexual assault, was last seen leaving his Vancouver halfway house on Feb. 11. He missed his curfew and police issued a Canada-wide warrant for his arrest.

A few days later, police announced that investigators had learned that Davis purchased a grey, 2001 Mercedes ML320 and believed that he had headed east to Winnipeg.

Davis went even further and was arrested in Quebec early Sunday morning driving the Mercedes.

He remains in police custody.
